Target of False Allegations

Watch this Youtube video discussion of false allegations against Walt Phaler and note the abuse this teacher had to endure because a student falsely accused him of molestation, but later admitted she was hallucinating. Also, listen to how his attorney pointed out that his law firm received five to ten similar calls from teachers each week. Considering that this is going on all over this nation, this is a national crisis, yet you need to dig deep through YouTube to find out about a story that happened in 2008. Why is that? White Chalk Crime!

In this interview, it is pointed out that the district has no choice but to take an allegation seriously. What is not pointed out is how many of these "allegations" are provoked so the district can go after a teacher they want out - usually for being too dedicated and principled, qualities that do not fit with White Chalk Crime. (Coming soon is the Oregon teacher story of Don Bellairs who was falsely accused of sexual harassment so they could push him out.) Also, what is not pointed out is how inclined the students are to resort to drugs and bad behavior being educated by our schools filled with White Chalk Crime and run by mini-Bernie Madoff's. Our children are like the canaries in the mines that sniff the poisonous gas and die so they can warn miners not to enter. They sniff the hypocrisy and lose faith in authority and are eager and willing to disrespect any or all elements of these fraudulent schools. The go after their teachers because they feel betrayed by these schools. They even disrespect their parents for being so foolish to trust these schools.

We don't know if the administration targeted Mr. Phaler and thus stacked his classes with students prone toward making false allegations or whether this happened because he cared too much, but what we do know is that Mr. Phaler admitted he no longer teaches as he did before. You will hear his attorney warn teachers NOT to help students since if they do they do so at their own peril. Do you think the teachers at Columbine knew these pearls of wisdom for teachers - stay out of trouble by not getting involved with troubled children? We do. Thus, if teachers and other educators cannot help students sliding into despair, no one can and all other students are in harm's way if a fellow student becomes violent. Granted, children needing therapy need more than a school can provide, but our teachers are usually the ones who communicate that children need help and they figure this out by getting closer to them in the way that Phaler did at one time. But because our schools are so dysfunctional, we have a missing link that brings us unsafe schools.

If it is true that "administrations must listen to every accusation" and put teachers through a living hell even when students may be making these accusations up, it becomes more important that we teach respect in our schools so students would not arrive at a place where they would ruin a good teacher's life. Also, we must be even more careful about who sits in power in our schools as their lack of wisdom will result in situations becoming out of control as this one did. When power trumps wisdom, what could be resolved simply becomes bigger than life as this issue did.

Furthermore, why isn't an issue like this getting more publicity so parents can teach children how wrong this is and so teachers can protect themselves? Think about the Rhode Island Supt. Gallo who terminated over 70 teachers because they wanted extra money for individual tutoring and did not want to be forced to have lunch with their students. The public immediately took the side of Gallo, figuring these teachers were slackers. But perhaps they know what familiarity with students in a White Chalk Crime environment breeds and are trying to keep a safe distant. Perhaps they are afraid to say this is why they don't want that involvement and are instead putting a request for money between them.

It is wrong that the media immediately jumps down the throats of teachers who hesitate knowing how out of control this corrupt system is rather than investigates those who led it to this dysfunctional place where teachers operate with their hands tied by administrations as well as students. Yes, students' accusations must be considered, but wouldn't you think a meeting with the parents just might have resulted in this student admitting this did not happen? To us it looks like an administration only too eager to take something to court so they could push the teacher out. Something is wrong with leadership that cannot sort out false accusations and that something is their preoccupation with White Chalk Crime and not education. You must watch this story if you want to get to the heart of why White Chalk Crime is so disastrous for all except the greedy power mongers robbing us blind. NAPTA
